All products are personally produced within his laboratory.
The plastic clay is shaped on the potter’s wheel or slab-built into thin sheets and then subsequently left to dry. The pieces are then fired for the first time at a temperture of about 1000°C. Each single piece is then glazed and fired once again at 1300°C.
After firing, as the articles exit the kiln, they reveal for the first time surprising and unexpected colors rendered by nature’s palette in some of the most unusual soft tones:
violet which flows from the color lilac to the pink floral nuance, peaceful shades of light blue which liberate the entrance of greys or emerald greens, earthy or sandy browns and beiges, limpid white as clear as the purest of stones.
Each firing produces its own personal glaze rendering unique, precious, and unrepeatable each and every piece of tableware and thus creating not only Giovanni Botter’s but “YOUR” Work of Art. |
